San Diego County Water Authority Construction Management As-Needed Services

Project Overview

$2.5M 5-year Construction Management As-Needed Services contract with the San Diego County Water Authority. Scott served as the Deputy Project Manager and solely coordinated on twelve separate task orders under that Contract totaling $2.24M before committing to growing Reilly Construction Management on a full time basis. The main scope of services were to provide resident engineering and shutdown inspection services as well as constructability reviews and cost estimating services. Other services included as-needed construction inspection, non-destructive examination of welds, materials testing, soils testing, geotechnical engineering services, construction administrator services, and administrative support services for various Water Authority projects.

San Diego Water Authority 5 year as needed contract

Three tasks performed under this Contract are highlighted below.

Nob Hill Improvement Project: Major elements of the Nob Hill Improvements Project included installing approximately 822 feet of 96-inch welded steel pipe within a drill and blast tunnel and excavation of portal reaches and connecting to the existing 69-inch welded steel liner inside the existing 72-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe at the north and south ends of Pipeline 3. Construction also included approximately 1,500 lineal feet of permanent access road from Scripps Lake Drive.

Carlsbad 6 Flow Control Facility: Constructability and Cost Estimating Services: In general, the work completed under this Contract consisted of providing constructability review comments and a cost estimate I performed for constructing a new concrete and masonry flow control facility while ensuring uninterrupted operation of the existing Carlsbad 1 FCF via the Pipeline 3 turnout.

Pipeline 3 Relining Lake Murray to Sweetwater Reservoir Project: In general, the work to be completed under this Contract consisted of rehabilitating approximately 22,800 feet of 66-inch and 69-inch diameter pipe extending its service life by 75 years.
