Elsinore Valley MWD Construction Management and Observation Services for the Single Check Backflow Device Replacement, Phase 2 and 3 Projects
Project Overview
The scope of work for the Phase 2 (FY2021) and Phase 3 (FY22) projects consisted of the replacement of single check backflow devices in 41 locations within the boundaries of the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District. These were replaced with reduced pressure principle backflow preventers / double detector check assemblies ranging in size from 4-inch to 12-inch, as identified on the construction plans. Construction included but was not limited to potholing the existing pipe at the location of the proposed connection prior to excavation for the demolition / removal of existing vaults, installation of new above grade backflow devices with associated piping appurtenances, and installation of concrete pad and guard posts (if shown) per the Contract Documents. The surface was restored to match the surrounding area. Before reinstating the service, the new pipeline / replacement devices had successfully passed pressure testing, disinfection, and bacteriological testing prior to proceeding with the connection to the existing pipeline. The Contractor was responsible for filing and payment of any necessary permits, traffic control, and all work shown on the Contract Documents.
